VP-M's "shoot" Interview

Steven Smith - Welcome VP-M to your "shoot" interview. Defiantly your last contribution to UFW.

VP-M - That's okay Steven, glad to be here.

Steven Smith - Okay, now I'd just like to take this time to remind the fans that this is ENTIRELY OOC, so anything you say here will be true and coming straight from your heart.

VP-M - That's true Steven. Now, let's get underway shall we?

Steven Smith - Okay. Now, who were you characters while you were in the UFW?

VP-M - Well Steven, I was the original UFW President, then I became Myst, as well as Krusha, Fury and Nick Taylor. I also did some posting as the resident jobbers at some stages and I also posted as VP-M as you all know. And for those who joined after IWO got invaded by porn, I was Whinge there. Now, some of you may know about the original Myst. Well, I would like to stress this, I wasn't him. After he decided to retire, I waited a while then bought back Myst because I liked him so much. So his first record, I think it stood at 28:12, was entirely done by another man, not myself. Oh, and for those who didn't know also, my real name is Adam.

Steven Smith - Okay, tell us a bit about yourself.

VP-M - Well, I'm 15. From Melbourne, Australia and basically, enjoyed UFW, until it became a chore, like Ten Pin Bowling, doing exercise every now and then and watching football. None of this NRL crap that VP-K has told you so much about. I'm talking about the real game here, AFL. You have to be an aussie to understand that one. And of course like most teenagers I like computer games. Mainly war-stratagy and stuff like that.

Steven Smith - Thanks for that. Now, seeing as you are the original Prez, tell us about the history of UFW. How you came to create it and why you did. I think you know what I mean.

VP-M - Well, in year 9, last year, part of the school program was to have a lap top. I'd never had a decent computer before. Our PC was lame, a 486 and didn't have a modem. But this Lap Top, what I'm typing this out on now had everything I needed to create a web page, and it was much faster. So, I had a laptop and Internet access at school, but not at home... yet. At school, my friends introduced me to e-feds and I found them to be quite fun. My first few feds were created by Justin Sane, otherwise know as Aaron who was an early roster member in UFW. I really sucked at role playing at first and when I think about it, I feel so dumb because I probably wasn't much better than the original Roody Poo. But, with some perseverance, some notes, I became much better. I looked at RP's which were written by Raker, also an early member in this fed, and Darkchylde [isn't that name cool?]. And eventually I became good at role playing and won some titles in those feds. But that wasn't enough. I decided to go the next step and create my own fed.

So, I had some discussion with my parents and we got the Internet. Now, since I had no idea about HTML, and I didn't even know how the Internet worked, I needed a program to help me do that. So, one lunch time at school, my friend game a CD with Front Page 98 on it and I went to it. I made the whole web page in just an hour during lunch time. It sucked, but hey, I had made it. My friend, Michael, who was Pyro in this fed, was also making a fed at the same time, called IWO, so we decided to inter-link these feds and have an interfed challenge as something extra. That night, I uploaded the pages and I had a fed on the net. From then on it grew and grew. When I first made it, I never ever thought it would become this big. I mean, a fun thing, made at lunch time turned into one of the greatest e-feds ever.

Steven Smith - How did you come up with the name, UFW and other character names?

VP-M - Well, I wanted it to sound like an e-fed, not a real fed, so that is where the fantasy part came in. And because it is supposed to be based on wrestling, I had wrestling and then I wanted it to sound the best, so I used Ultra. Then, I had to come up with names. I created all of them, even you Steven. I made up the names, Steven Smith, Bobby Bradford, Bill Fraser, Jack James and Gus Armed. I also made the card names as well, Friday Fight, Monday Madness and Wednesday War.

Steven Smith - How did you get members to make it so big?

VP-M - Well of course I got people from Justin Sane's fed at the time, which helped. Also, some friends from school. And then I got someone I knew who loved wrestling and always let me borrow his tapes so I could watch them, my uncle Ross, you guys know him better as VP-L, Layeth the Smack Down, Groan, The Gimp or Chameleon. So, I had a roster of 8, big deal. The word spread and it grew. And at times when it looked like things were going for a dive, I also resorted to spamming other people's board. Yes, I know we here at UFW detest it with a passion but I had to do it to make the fed bigger. It resulted in spams back to our board, some rude e-mails and all sorts of things, but I persevered.

After a few months, when it was at it's peak, cards were booked out for two weeks in advance, I couldn't handle it much more because of strict Internet timing. I was dying financially because as well me using the Internet, my family was and since I was using it the most, if the bill was over due, I was in trouble. Once, I went $200 plus over my account, and my mum said if we go over again I have to close it so rather than doing that, I handed it to my uncle who had access at the Internet at work. Now he could run it smoothly. I guess he will tell you about his time as Prez further in his "shoot".

Steven Smith - Okay, you had handed over the reigns, what did you do know?

VP-M - Well, I still helped my uncle by doing little things, I.E. - cleaning the RP Board, etc. and it also gave me time to post. So, I restarted the Myst gimmick as well Krusha. Krusha's gimmick was pathetic but hey, it was till fun. As the months went on, I had to spice up the woman's division, so, I retired Krusha, and bought in Fury. I had long feuds with Pandora and when she left, the division was closed. It was so much fun. Ross made the fed better by bringing extra things in to it, which I', sure he'll tell you all about.

Steven Smith - Okay, we've heard basically your history in UFW, now, tell us what you remember most?

VP-M - Gee, this is a toughy. Well, I must say, the Layeth news posts were a hoot. They were so funny I had tears running down my face reading them. I never knew e-feding could be so funny. Then the Layeth/ Little Cloud diary posts, they were hilarious as well. I really learned my uncle was a funny man. I also remember other great posters such as Raker, Cain Manson Crow and "The Scholar" Howard Porter which was always a pleasure reading their posts.

Steven Smith - What is your least favourite memory of UFW then?

VP-M - I guess the spamming was annoying even though I did it in the beginning. But let me talk about a man UFW loved to hate. UFW's first ever VP, VP Geno. This guy, called Geno, e-mailed me one day asking if he could become VP straight out, just like that. He said we wanted to have a powers that be gimmick [similar to WCW at the time] and run the show. I mulled it over and thought yeah why not. The matches he booked were unbelievable! I mean, they were so bad, some people e-mailed me threatening to fire Geno or they quit. I sent out some e-mail's pleading people not to go and Geno won't have the "stroke" and things will be back to normal. They stayed.

Well, here is some examples of matches he booked. Every match, except maybe one or two, was a title match. He had the women in a bikini match, and everything he had booked wasn't agreed to by the champs. And get this, I'm sure Ross will tell you about this as well, he booked himself into the World Title match. Fear just spread over me as the swearing posts came in. Basically, Geno quit due to people hating him, much how people today hate Jake Douglas, and he said he'd come back later with a new gimmick. This is during Ross' reign as Prez mind you. Anyways, he occasionally, like rarely e-mailed Ross saying he was coming back at the PPV but he was always a few days too late, hehe. He is still probably thinking of that new gimmick now [serious - he was a real dork].

Steven Smith - Out of all the wrestler's, who did you despise the most, even OOC?

VP-M - Well, probably Geno, but aside from him, Jake Douglas. Not really OOC because he joined after I had handed the Prezship away, but more as a character. He was just your normal e-fedder but people hated him so much because he played the heel role so well and naturally. Half the time, he probably didn't even know he was doing it. It was just things like that, which get under people's nerves.

Steven Smith - Who was the best and easiest to comply with behind the scenes?

VP-M - Well I must say Raker. He respected everything I did and helped at in many ways. At the time, the web page layout sucked. He redid the whole site for me and it is pretty much the same today just because we didn't get around to finishing the site design, well Ross and Kit. Anyways, since it doesn't matter anymore, you can see what they were working on here [providing it is still there] and here. Just remember, it was gonna be stacks better than what you see here. Hehe, I'm sure they won't mind considering that Ross is giving away the passwords to the staff board. But most of the good stuff off that is gone damnit! Oh well... you'll get to see some of the stuff we babbled on about.

Steven Smith - Half way through Ross' reign, UFW was at the cross roads when the fed may have closed, what saved that?

VP-M - That was when we had a change of Prez. Kaos became the new Prez and quite frankly, he was a flop. Sorry Kit, but you sucked as Prez. You're still a great dude though. Then, we had Novak. He was also a flop. No offense Novak but you're still cool as well. So, we introduced the VP system. We had Ross as VP-L, myself as VP-M, Kaos as VP-K, Mike as VIP, Anguish as VP-T, Insomniac [for a short time until we fired him, hehe] as VP-I and Body as VP Body [until we fired him as well, hehe]. Things ran quite smoothly for ages on this system with Anguish writing Monday's cards, Novak writing Wednesday's and Mike writing Friday's. Ross and Kit were too involved in the site design, which never got done, and I was maintaining the board, updating cards and doing other little jobs. We all had our fair share. And when someone couldn't do a card, or got bored, someone else would fill in. It was a great system and that is how I think we got so good.

Steven Smith - Give us a run down on what you thought of the other VP's, not as wrestler because you feuded with them all, but as people.

VP-M - Well let's start off, with the one and only, Kit AKA Kaos. He has a great personality and is always talking to anyone. I enjoyed his company but once he became Prez and started killing it [UFW], I became really pissed of at him OOC as well. But we're cool now. I'll just say now, I won't talk about Body or Insomniac because they were only on staff for a while, not really worth mentioning.

Anyways, let's say Novak is next. He is a great guy. He is very intelligent and I would say writes the best cards in UFW when he puts his mind to it. I don't I ever got pissed off at him ever, for as long as I knew him because when he was Prez, he actually did do a better job than Kit. He has amazing stamina, Ross nor I could hardly believe it, but most of the time, even on school nights, we would stay up to like 1-4am writing cards or anything! I found it amazing because I like to go to bed at about 11 not much later most nights.

Now, Mo AKA Anguish. I only ever had one tiff with him. It was when Myst had his first match with Mayhem. At the time, I was doing work experience with Ross so I hadn't really posted for a week because I didn't know about it. Anyway, I was really pissed off at him, but it only lasted for a few hours and we've been on good terms ever since. I wouldn't argue with him, after all, he is so much bigger than me. He was like Novak except he stayed up even later. He was really good to talk to.

Now for Mike. Didn't see much of him. Seeing he is a college student was probably out partying most of the time. No offenses to him at all, but he was the one I liked least out of the staff, mainly because if a card was late, it was gonna be Mike's. Sometimes, he wouldn't appear for weeks at a time and leave us with a card at the last second. It really annoyed me but I still think he is a great person.

Now, Commish Bio, the newest member of the staff team. This is anything goes right? Anyways, back during the time when Ross was Prez, some really rude posts were done from Bio's Mac using Bio's ISP. He was fired but pleaded to us he was innocent, so we gave him the benefit of the doubt and he was back in. I could hardly believe it that the guy who could of done the posts, we still don't know, became the UFW's commish. Sometimes, deep down, I still think he did it but I can't prove it so I ignore it. I haven't really had a tiff with him on staff because most things he did were cool and on time. The only real argument I had with him was just last week when he tried to use his commish power to get B.A. Brusier into my World Title Tourney. This was an angle I was using to feud with B.A. that is why I got annoyed [always thought you were an awesome member B.A.]. Other than that, we're cool.

And now for the final one, I know him the best because he is my uncle, he is VP-L AKA Layeth. Ross always put results in on time and was always reliable. He never slacked off, mainly because he had Internet access at his finger tips nearly every second of the day, and I think he was a the leader. Without him, things would have fallen apart. He did the best job as a VP... never really had a UFW argument with him... maybe one or two... none that I can remember. Hehe, the main ones that come to mind were when we played video games and I won. He called me scum bag a lot or Adam the Lame, hehe. So many memories.

Steven Smith - Tell us what you think about some of the more recent UFW wrestler's. For example: Revenant, X-Treme, "The Scholar" Howard Porter and Professor Dorkiman.

VP-M - Well, to be totally honest: Revenant, you were annoying as hell. I look at my ICQ list now and you are the only one who is online so I'm staying invisible. Whenever you were online I was invisible because you were so damn annoying! I came online once and all you did was pester me about using Myst in a promo and you were going to kill him or whatever. I swear, I was that close to firing him because he annoyed me so much. As a wrestler, his RP's were average, nothing special really, and I didn't mind him.

Now, X-Treme. I believe this person actually is a female but due to her character being male, X-Treme will be refereed to as he [sorry about that]. Now, when I first saw the RP Board and saw his first post, I was going to delete it because it looked just like a jobber had let themselves in without permission. Anyways, I checked out the Prez account and this person was a legit wrestler so I left. I think X-Treme in a way was much like Jake Douglas. He played the heel role so well and naturally, even though he was supposed to be a face, but he really got under people's skin, mine included. Although I never talked to this person, I only interacted to them through RP's I would have to say they are quite annoying. And then what I find in the Prez mail box the next day? X-Treme has e-mailed us saying that he will run the fed. That was a laugh considering he has no idea about HTML and doesn't have a clue of much work it takes to run it.

"The Scholar" Howard Porter. I talked to him a bit over ICQ and he is a great guy. He has a great sense of humor and always good to talk to. I enjoyed being in his stable with Nick Taylor, it made UFW just THAT much more enjoyable. He was one of the best RP'ers I have ever seen. I think maybe Cain Manson Crow was just a tad better.

And now for Professor Herbert D. Dorkiman, also in my stable. I talked to him a bit through e-mails and he was a really nice gut to talk to. I wish him, and everyone, the best of luck wherever they go and whatever they do. It really has been a great experience here in UFW.

Steven Smith - Wow! This really is turning into along promo. Probably one of your longest?

VP-M - Yeah, I put in some real good ones over the months but this is the longest and it is OOC in a promo format which is cool. Any more questions?

Steven Smith - Well, you've told us heaps of stuff and I'm sure you could go on for hours longer but what about your wrestling career as Myst.

VP-M - Well, I'll make this brief. As you know, I took over the Myst gimmick after the original dude who RP'ed for Myst retired. It was fun for a while, got to feud with people such as Layeth and Kaos - Kaos the main one. I feuded with Kaos nonstop basically for several months. Eventually I got the better of him and won my third World Title. HUZZAH! As he would say, hehe. Anyway, there isn't much you really need to know about the Myst career because I can't remember all the details. Had some feuds, won some titles, held 4 titles at once, hold the record for the most matches in one night, standing at 10. 5 of them were against Jake Douglas in our best of 5 match series which he won damnit! And if I had of won, I would have had a shot at the World Title against Mike Nightmare, but alas, it wasn't to be. Maybe if I ad of beat Jake, I would have had 4 World Title reigns? Who knows. Damn that Douglas!

Steven Smith - Any final comments before we say adios?

VP-M - I'd just like to wish everyone good luck where ever they go and what ever they do. It has been heaps of fun and if anyone wants to stay in contact, they can e-mail me here or ICQ me... actually no, I don't want a big ICQ list again. Just e-mail. Sorry dudes, e-mail only. So everybody, adios!

[The scene fades to black.]
